This afternoon one of my worst fears relating to blogging, website maintenace, etc… was realized. I’m hosting two blogs with the same account and by some mistake/accident – I still have no clue how – the database of my main blog just disappeared. I was adding an additional database when it happened. I suppose it’s possible to accidentally click the worng thing, but it always asks for comfirmation before deleting anything and I don’t remember answering any such thing. I just know that when I hit finish after adding the second one the first one was not in the list. Poof -gone! there went all my previous posts along with the comments that had been left by gracious visitors. The fortunate part of this whole thing is that the blog was not old and so I didn’t lose a huge subscriber list or a lot of posts, in fact thanks to feedburner I found a copy of my previous posts and was able to re-post them. So all in all it turned out fine, but what a heart stopping feeling! Yikes! It was new enough I hadn’t backed it up yet, but no more. There’s too much work/time involved to do this over and over again.

Hey, like your layout design too! My type of look. Being a newbie too, this tecky stuff can be a bit scarey. Having loads of fun though.
Thanks for the compliment! As for the fun part – I’m absolutely loving it. Why I haven’t been doing this kind of thing for several years already I have no idea. Computers, internet, technology, etc… It’s all stuff I love doing/messing with.
Hey John, pain in the butt hey…. don’t worry, even experienced teckies mess up — this is a great theme that you found. Keep it up.
Thanks Jack – Yeah no matter how good we are at doing something, we’re flawed with limitations and sooner or later given enough opportunities we’ll mess up, but somehow when it’s me then I want to be hard on myself. It’s hard on my pride I guess. Thanks agin for your visit and comment.
Hey John I love the look of this blog also. Was wondering how do you back up a blog because I don’t have a feedburner,(don’t know what that is) and just i case, I’d like to back mine up. Thanks. I have listed my email address with you.
That’s a bummer. Don’t you love technology? Sometimes our best friend, sometimes our worst enemy. Glad you got this beautiful blog up.
