Oh how I love the spring and summer weather! Usually when I think of those seasons I think of many pleasant things like fishing, campfires, no jackets, etc… but there is another aspect as well. Lately we have become quite busy with more outdoor projects such as gardening and flowerbeds/landscaping that need to be completed not to mention the weekly mowing. All of it has me pondering again. What are some ways we can become too busy? Especially when there are things we don’t want to think about or deal with isn’t it easy to drown them out in busyness? What are the repercussions for being too busy? Misplaced priorities anyone? I have been guilty in the past of getting caught up in the work that “needs” to be done so much so that I missed many opportunities to enjoy the pleasantness of the things before me. I have moaned about being too busy to go fishing (what’s your thing), but was I really? Please understand it’s not about fishing, but taking time to enjoy some of the beauty and opportunities God has created for us. Not just to consume it on myself, but to ponder Him and share it with others. Can you repay God for the sunsets he paints for you? How about taking time to notice them and saying thank you? Isn’t that a form of worship? If so what does it say about us when we don’t notice or say thank you? When I get too busy I tend to get caught up in the means and lose sight of the end. That leads to purposeless living and boredom. It’s a sad story when we’re too busy to live wouldn’t you say?
